Head of Silverback Engineering
Jet Kraaijveld
Head of Engineering
I’m Jet and I'm head of engineering of our Silverback Engineering team. In the previous two years I was part of the PR team. This year I transferred to engineering and am now head of the engineering team. This year we are mainly focusing on making the car safer. We are doing this by making the car more accessible to the driver. Additionally, we also want to improve our record which stands at 129.8 km/L. We are going to this by cutting the car weight, making it more efficient. Generally, we are improving the car compared to last year as we had minor inconveniences and crashed. Due to this we are focusing on the repairs and as for this we will be counting our work.
Wietske Anema
Head of PR
I’m Wietske and I'm the head of PR this year. i joined Silverback Engineering last year as a PR member because I was and still am very interested in the engineering aspect and the work that goes on with sponsors and advertising. I joined because i was very excited about the concept and really want to work towards a sustainable world what we are doing with our car. I hope that through this project we can take part in creating a better future and greener planet. In PR this year we will really be working in our engagement with our sponsors and other viewers. We want to improve all our social media platforms such as our website, youtube, instagram, facebook and all others. We really hope that you'll support us through this process. We hope that we will be able to show you our process and that you'll see go all the way to Shell Eco-Marathon.

Simeng Li
I’m Simeng, I've been in this team for 1 year and this is my second year. I joined because i like to make things and i have a strong interest in engineering and cars. This year I’m deputy head of the engineering team. I am in charge off steering, electrical and programming. We are really excited to go to the Shell Eco-marathon competition this year and i believe we will get a better result.

Paul Verkade
I’m Paul Verkade, I’m 16 years old and dutch. Last year i was part of the PR team for Silverback Engineering and now I'm part of the engineering team. I joined silverback engineering to get experience about how cars work as I am considering a future career in Engineering. My main job is to work on the engine and try get it as efficient as possible, potentially put down some weight. I love Silverback Engineering because it is a great opportunity for us to learn and achieve our goal of setting a good time this year and hopefully break a record.

Patrick Lacorum
My name is Patrick. I am a programmer on the silverback engineering team. I joined Silverback Engineering because my big dream is to become a engineer of some sort in the chemical electrical sector. I think the Silverback Engineering team is really helpful for my future. I want to work towards a really good electrical system in programming for the car and to achieve a good time.

Kunal Gupta
I’m Kunal, this is my first year at Silverback Engineering. I joined the team, mainly because I wanted some experiences in the engineering world. As I hope to be a engineer of some sort in the future. I find engineering, especially the Silverback Engineering team interesting as it gives you flexibility around the electronics and the programming system of the car. I hope to make the whole car better and especially the control systems in it. I really hope that all together we will be able to do some great things this year.

Mimo Lira
I’m Mimo. I will be working on the steering of the car this year. I hope that together with the team I will be able to improve the breaking of the car. I’ve been active in the Silverback Engineering for 2 years now, nearly 3. I am very excited to finally fully be part of the team and go to Shell Eco-Marathon. I hope that we will be able to set a good time this year and break our standing record.

My name is Julie, this is my first year in the silverback engineering team because I really wanted to join so i can learn about car functioning and how it works, I'm really excited for the Shell Eco-Marathon in London this year and hope that we will be able to set a good time.

I’m Mody, I work with the electrical components. This year, I hope to ensure there are no problems with the electrical components as there were problems with these last year. I also hope that we will be able to create a lasting impact with the electrical components to ensure that there will be no problems for the upcoming years.

I’m Faye Kusters and I am part of PR team. I'm in charge of social media again. I joined Silverback Engineering to have a new experience to make a difference in the world. On top of this I feel that Silverback Engineering is a fun opportunity and learning experience. This year I hope to make silverbacks more well known in the community around us and at Shell Eco-Marathon. This year I hope we be able to get a time and I’m very excited for the upcoming year.

I’m Eva and i'm part of the PR silverback engineering team. This year I hope to achieve more recognition as a team via social media and the Shell Eco-Marathon. So far we have already organised a football tournament which was very successful and we hope to achieve more tournaments like this.

I wanted to gain some experience in the business field to prepare myself for the future, when contacting business agencies and working in the advertising business. To learn a lot about how business works and to bring awareness about how we can have a cleaner future if we work together. Hi, My name is Kavishya and I am the backup driver, and this is my first year doing silverbacks engineering. I joined silverbacks engineering as I wanted to try something new and challenge myself. I am very excited to be a part of this team and see the car be made before we go to London for the Shell eco-marathon.
